Weekly Letter: Story from the East
Dear Reader,
There is a story from the East about when God* created human. He went to the village elders and was complaining about his creation because they kept coming to him and asking him for things and complaining. The elders suggested he hide in the tallest mountains or the lowest waters, until finally God said, ‘I know, I will hide inside of each of them. They will never find me there.’
Our practice asks us for deeper self-study dividing us from our ego and asking us to consider separating ourselves from each of our pieces. Pieces of ourselves we have acquired through experiences, responsibilities and more. The practice is looking for us to see ourselves beyond those parts and to get sensitive to seeing when our acquired features are coming in.
*God is a general god in this story.
Special Note: Ego is yoga is different than the way psychology defines Ego.
